Retina: HRT

HRT Papilla

The Heidelberg retinotomography (HRT) we perform reveals papilla in 3 dimensions. Using the HRT technique, we can determine if this part of the eye is affected by disease or physiological alterations. HRT precisely measures papilla and clinical progress can be monitored reliably. Additionally, the requirement for or resulting efficiency of a treatment can be monitored at early stages with great accuracy. This examination is painless, takes only a few minutes and does not require the dilation of the pupils in most cases.

HRT Macula

The macula (“yellow spot”) is the point on the retina responsible for the most focused vision. Upon HRT examination of the macula, color-layered portraits are produced and used to diagnose macular degeneration (dry or moist) with high precision. Detection at early stages of macular degeneration is decisive and provides for increased treatment options and improved prognoses.
